      In every conceivable manner, the family is a link to our past, brigde to our future.  There is often a lack of communication between parents and their children in every family. Especially the fathers who always keep their strong figure as the head of the family and expressing love towards their children is usually implicit.  This concept of relationship is further explained by the two short stories, "A Gentleman's C" by Padgett Powell and "Humans of New York" by Brandon Stanton. The relationship between the father and child can be seen throughout the two texts. These two authors presented the same situation yet different consequences thus giving distinction to the both stories. Padget Powell's "A Gentleman's C", the English professor or the son seems to have grown enough to become more independent and make decisions on his own. Sa Kahit Anong Hirap

Magandang gabi mga Ginoo't Binibini , ang tulang ito ay aking isinulat sa panahon na ako'y nahirapan at duwag sa pagharap ng mga problema. Sa kabila nito, ako'y natuto at napagtanto na sa bawat pagsubok na darating may tutulong sa akin. Ito ay ang aking sarili. Kung kaya, kapag inyong nabasa ang aking akda sana'y makatulong sa inyo. Sa kahit anong pagkakataon sarili mismo natin ang makakatulong sa pagkamit ng ating pangarap sa kahit anong hirap na ating madadanas Isang araw mula sa aking pag gising  kislap ng aking mata'y parang napuwing Buhay na mapayapa ay aking hiling Sana nama'y dinggin ang mga hinaing  O, pagsubok, piling akong dinadaya Bumubulong, sa aking 'hindi ko kaya' Nagsasabing ako ay duwag at lampa Na ako ay walang sapat na halaga Katawan ay isip ko ay nanghihina Hindi na alam ang gagawin sa twina Ito nga ba ay nagpapahiwatig na,  ako'y susuko at hindi ko na kaya?  Aking sarili ay napagdesisyunan Pagmulat sa tunay na katotoha...
